Contact Lens Types

Nearsighted/Farsighted contact lenses are the most frequently prescribed. Dr. Schultz uses only the best silicon hydrogel lenses available which are extremely breathable and wettable.

Toric contact lenses correct astigmatism. If you were ever told you couldn’t wear contacts because of astigmatism, it’s probably not true and Dr. Schultz would love to prove it to you.

Hard Gas Permeable (HGP) contact lenses are still used for a variety of reasons and prescriptions. They often deliver superior acuity over soft lenses but require a little more care. You can expect a single pair to last one to two years!

Multifocal contact lenses correct distance and near vision simultaneously. They work similar to bifocal glasses but require more patience and fitting skill.

Monovision contact lens techniques also correct both distance and near vision but dedicates one eye for each task.

Custom contact lenses are utilized for strong or unusual prescriptions unobtainable in basic lenses. They are available in soft and HGP materials and are usually disposed of less frequently.
